Motivation...... how do you keep it?

You know, Zig Ziglar Zig Ziglar once said, "People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily."

 So, here's my question to you.

What happens after you lose the weight? You see, it's not about the weight loss as much as it's about the Journey.

The truth is, we don't just get to get our six pack and say, "Okay, that's it. I can go back to my old ways."

Maintenance is actually harder than the weight loss itself.

When you're losing weight, people come up to you and say, "Hey, you're looking good, are you losing weight?"

That's pretty motivating, right? You're getting compliments, people are noticing.

But what happens after you lose the weight?

Nobody comes up to you and says, "Hey, you're looking good, you're maintaining your weight!" 

That just doesn't happen.

Why Do You Need a Coach?

 

Today I want to talk to you about my favorite topic. It's coaching.

I am a coach through and through.

I am a coach at heart.

Even as I get pulled away from coaching at times because of the different responsibilities that come with having multiple locations, I still make sure that there's some amount of coaching on my schedule.

I love to coach.

Let me ask you something. Do you know where that word comes from? The word "coach?"

It actually comes from the olden days when they had stagecoaches. The point of the stagecoach is to take you from where you're at to where you want to go, right?

From where you're at, to where you want to go.

That's what a good coach should do.

A good coach should help you to assess where you're at. We do this, at Journey, through medical screening. We do this through different types of assessments. We do it through a little goal setting conversation where we say, "Hey, what is it that you'd like to accomplish?"

And sometimes people don't know.
