A Machine That Keeps You Alive...

 

At Journey we are always doing things that other gyms don't do.  For example we include nutrition, we track you down when you don't show up and we like to partner with other health professionals to bring you more resources.

We have amazing healthcare providers in our community who work hard every day to positively impact the health of our local residents.  We recently had the pleasure of interviewing Janet Farwell who is a Perfusionist.  She has been doing her job for over 30 years.  In the interview,  Janet told us about the machine that she runs and this machine essentially keeps patients alive.  

A perfusionist is a healthcare professional who operates the cardiopulmonary bypass machine (heart–lung machine) during cardiac surgery and other surgeries that require cardiopulmonary bypass to manage the patient's physiological status.
